Sexual Health Program
The Sexual Health Program engages Latiné communities to develop and implement community-driven solutions that address the impact of HIV and other STIs on families and communities. The program aims to reduce HIV infections and the transmission of other STIs through culturally relevant education, outreach, and resource navigation, while fostering community empowerment and reducing fear and stigma.
Program Offerings
Sexual Health Education Community Workshops - Me Cuido, Te Cuido
Community workshops are 2- 2.5 hour sessions and facilitated in person at various locations as well as virtually. The curriculum includes activities covering values in relationships, aspects of sexuality, HIV and STIs prevention, and community resources. Workshops are facilitated in Spanish, free of cost, and open to anyone residing in Oregon 16 years and older. Pre-registration is required and a list of upcoming workshops can be found on our classes page.
Testing and Sexual Health Resource Navigation (HIV/STI)
It is recommended that everyone get tested for HIV at least once in their lifetime, and yet less than half of adults in Oregon have been tested. HIV and STI testing can be scheduled by contacting our prevention coordinator (971-939-7622) or completing this form. Our prevention coordinator can help connect community members in Oregon to HIV and STI testing and other sexual health resources.
Learning, Networking Opportunities, Trainings for CHWs
HIV/STIs are important health topics and there is a great need to include sexual health in a broader conversation about health and wellbeing. The Latiné community in Oregon is disproportionately impacted by HIV and other sexually transmitted infections due to multiple factors that contribute to decreased access to prevention including HIV/ STI testing.
