Community Health Workers and Community partners:

Familias en Acción through our Nutrition and Food Equity program collaborates with Hunger Free Oregon, 211, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), and Oregon Food Bank (OFB) to share with our communities food resources available for the Latino/x Community.

We know that access to food is critical and is a huge need in our communities, and we believe that together we can share these resources and promote access and food security among Latino/x families. To learn more information about our Know Your Rights webinar series & to register, click here.

1 in 5 children in Oregon is at risk of food insecurity.
1 in 8 people in Oregon are food insecure.

Although Oregon’s overall rate of food insecurity was at an all-time low in 2019, access to food did not extend to all communities equally. Approximately 20% of Black, Latino, and Indigenous households experienced food insecurity in December 2019, compared to 10% of the White population.

Food insecurity among Latin/X in Oregon has increased 18% between 2015 and 2019.
